Background
I'm a licensed counselor with about 14 years of clinical experience. I specialize in anxiety, panic, OCD, phobias, and fear of flying, and I work with many professionals and executives on stress and burnout.
Before becoming a therapist, I served in the U.S. Navy as a signals analyst from 2001 to 2006. That work was analytical and detail-driven, and it still shapes how I approach therapy: define the problem precisely, test what works, and adjust.
In 2017 my wife and I founded Float On Counseling, a group practice in Tampa, Florida. I still own and run it. This site covers my own work: in-person and walk-and-talk sessions in Port Royal, and online sessions across South Carolina and Florida.
How I work
My style is direct and practical. Sessions have structure, and you'll usually leave with something specific to practice. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and solution-focused methods, all with solid research behind them.
I work with adults who are managing day to day and want focused help with a specific problem. If you need a higher level of care than weekly outpatient therapy, I'll help you find it.
